The FIFA Priority Appointment Scheduling System (PASS) gives those who purchase FIFA World Cup 2026™ tickets directly from FIFA and who opt in to FIFA PASS the chance to interview for a B1/B2 visitor visa before the tournament begins. Here’s how FIFA PASS works:
Step 1: Log into your FIFA.com* account and submit the FIFA PASS opt in form.
Step 2: Complete the visa application process (you can get started here):
Select your country of nationality or residence where you’ll be applying;
Fill out the online DS-160 visa application form, upload a current photo and pay the visa fee.
Step 3: Schedule your visa interview appointment. If asked if you’re a FIFA ticket holder, be sure to answer “Yes.” If the information you entered in the FIFA PASS opt in form matches your visa application information, you’ll get access to a FIFA PASS Appointment!
*If you received your ticket via FIFA’s Ticket Transfer feature, you must create a FIFA ticketing account (if you do not already have one), agree to all applicable terms and conditions, and accept the transfer before you can submit the FIFA PASS opt in form.
Scheduling an interview appointment via FIFA PASS does not guarantee the visa will be issued. Like all visa applicants, ticket holders must undergo thorough screening and must demonstrate they qualify for a visa.
FIFA PASS Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is FIFA PASS?
The FIFA Priority Appointment Scheduling System (FIFA PASS) allows FIFA World Cup 2026™ (FWC26) ticket holders who purchased their ticket directly from FIFA and opt in the chance to schedule a visa interview appointment before the start of the FWC26.
Q. Does a FIFA PASS appointment guarantee that my visa will be approved?
No. Scheduling an interview appointment via FIFA PASS does not guarantee the visa will be issued. Like all visa applicants, ticket holders undergo thorough security screening and vetting, and they must demonstrate they qualify for a visa.
Q. Does a FIFA PASS appointment allow foreign nationals who are otherwise not eligible for visas under Presidential Proclamation 10998 to be issued visas and travel to the United States?
No. Presidential Proclamation 10998 on “Restricting and Limiting the Entry of Foreign Nationals to Protect the Security of the United States” suspends or limits visa issuance to nationals of 39 countries as well as individuals applying using Palestinian Authority travel documents. The Proclamation includes an exception for any athlete or member of an athletic team, including coaches, persons performing a necessary support role, and immediate relatives, traveling for the World Cup, Olympic Games, or other major sporting event as determined by the Secretary of State. The exception does not apply to fans or spectators, regardless of whether they are eligible for FIFA PASS. Applicants who are subject to Presidential Proclamation 10998 may still submit visa applications and attend scheduled interviews, but they may be ineligible for visa issuance or admission to the United States. More information is available here.
Q. Does a FIFA PASS appointment allow a foreign national who is otherwise subject to a visa bond an exception from paying the bond?
No. Nationals of visa bond pilot program countries who are found otherwise eligible for a B1/B2 visa must post a bond when instructed to do so by the consular officer before the visa can be issued. This requirement applies regardless of place of application and regardless of an applicant’s FIFA PASS eligibility. Additional information on the visa bond pilot program is available here.
Q. Does FIFA PASS allow visa applicants to schedule their interview outside of their country of nationality or residence?
Applicants for U.S. nonimmigrant visas (NIV) should schedule their visa interview appointments at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in their country of nationality or residence. Applicants must be able to demonstrate residence in the country where they are applying, if the place of application is based on their residency. FIFA PASS is not available to applicants who are seeking to apply outside of their country of nationality or residence. * More information is available here.
*Nationals of Colombia may apply for a B1/B2 visa at the U.S. Embassy in Panama City or at the U.S. Embassy and consulates in Brazil.
Q. People from my country usually get single entry visas. What if I have tickets to more than one match and will be traveling between Canada, the United States, and Mexico a few times? Will visas for World Cup ticket holders be multiple-entry?
We strongly recommend you review the information related to maximum visa validity and number of entries for visas issued to nationals of your country on our website. Plan your travel accordingly. There are no special visa provisions that will change the maximum number of entries and length of validity for visas issued to World Cup ticket holders.
Q. I purchased my ticket directly from FIFA, and submitted the FIFA PASS opt in form, but the visa appointment system said I was not eligible for FIFA PASS. Why not?
Please double-check the following:
Make sure you entered your information correctly in the FIFA PASS opt in form and that it matches exactly the information you submitted in your visa application.
Make sure it has been at least one (1) hour since you submitted your FIFA PASS opt in form on FIFA.com before you attempt to schedule your visa interview appointment.
If you are still having difficulties, additional help is available here.
Q. I purchased tickets directly from FIFA and submitted the FIFA PASS opt in form, but when I scheduled my visa interview, I was not asked about my FIFA ticket. Did I miss a step?
If your appointment is on or before May 31, 2026, you should proceed with that appointment.
Q. I had already scheduled a visa interview appointment before I purchased my FIFA World Cup 2026™ ticket. Can I use FIFA PASS to reschedule my visa interview to a sooner date?
If your visa interview is scheduled to take place on or before May 31, 2026, you should proceed with that appointment.
If your visa interview is scheduled to take place after May 31, 2026, please follow the guidance in our country-specific information, available here.
Q. If I buy a ticket to a match to use FIFA PASS to get a visa appointment, will my visa be revoked/canceled if I later sell my ticket?
Scheduling an interview appointment via FIFA PASS does not guarantee the visa will be issued. Like all visa applicants, ticket holders undergo thorough security screening and vetting, and they must demonstrate they qualify for a visa. We understand that plans change. If a visa holder who scheduled their visa interview appointment via FIFA PASS subsequently sells their ticket, their visa will not be canceled or revoked for this reason. Having a ticket has no influence on whether you qualify for a visa.
Q. Can the family of a ticket holder use FIFA PASS to make an appointment, even if the family members do not have tickets for a match?
FIFA PASS appointments are available for spouses and minor children of FWC26 ticketholders, but only if they are accompanying the FWC26 ticketholder to the ticketholder’s interview.
Q. Does the immigrant visa issuance pause for 75 countries impact FIFA PASS or other FIFA World Cup 2026™ visa applicants?
The pause announced on January 14, 2026, applies to the issuance of immigrant visas only. It does not apply to nonimmigrant visas, such as those for tourists, athletes and their families, and media professionals. Additional information is available here.
